May 22nd is traditionally recognized as Sherlock Holmes day, in honor of Sir Arthur Conan Doyles Birthday. However, there are some sources, (5minlib.com, and bookglow.net) that say that it's December 1. It's claimed that "A Study in Scarlett) was first published on Dec. 1, 1887, but there is some debate on the authenticity of the exact date, claiming that the day of publication was actually in November. Either way, it's never a bad time to celebrate and appreciate all that is Sherlock Holmes.
