The day its residents meet up at the local inn, a severe snowstorm batters the area, effectively trapping everyone inside the establishment. As the tensions between the two opposing sides heighten, it is up to the newly arrived forest ranger Finn (Sam Richardson) and postal worker Cecily (Milana Vayntrub) to keep the peace and find out the person responsible for the appearance of a mysterious creature that has started terrorizing the community. Doctor Sleep [Videorecording (DVD)]

Struggling with alcoholism, Dan Torrance remains traumatized by the sinister events that occurred at the Overlook Hotel when he was a child. His hope for a peaceful existence soon becomes shattered when he meets Abra, a teen who shares his extrasensory gift of the 'shine.' Together, they form an unlikely alliance to battle the True Knot, a cult whose members try to feed off the shine of innocents to become immortal.

Two couples on an oceanside getaway grow suspicious that the host of their seemingly perfect rental house may be spying on them. Before long, what should have been a celebratory weekend trip turns into something far more sinister, as well-kept secrets are exposed and the four old friends come to see each other in a whole new light.

A long time ago in a distant fairy tale countryside, a young girl leads her little brother into a dark wood in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil.

Newly appointed nanny Kate is charged with the care of two disturbed orphans, Flora and Miles. Quickly, though, she discovers that both the children and the house are harboring dark secrets and things may not be as they appear.

Sue Ann, a loner in her quiet Ohio town, is asked by Maggie, a new teenager in town, to buy some booze for her and her friends. Sue Ann sees the chance to make some unsuspecting younger friends. She offers the kids the chance to avoid drinking and driving by hanging out in the basement of her home as long as they abide by the house rules. Her hospitality starts to curdle into obsession, and what began as a teenage dream turns into a terrorizing nightmare.

A powerful and evil force threatens to attack a family whenever they make a noise, causing them to plunge into lives of silence. Any move they make, they live with the terrifying threat of being ambushed at any moment. With their existence on the line, they will need to develop a plan to escape their perilous circumstances. The question is whether or not time has already run out on their aspirations to lead normal lives.
In a post-apocalyptic world, a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing.

A group of bullied kids band together when a monster, taking the appearance of a clown, begins hunting children.

One of the most highly regarded haunted house films ever produced, Robert Wise's The Haunting (based on Shirley Jackson's novel The Haunting of Hill House) weaves the dark tale of a questionably sane young woman and a sinister house which holds a terrifying past. Invited to join anthropologist Dr. Markway (Richard Johnson), ESP expert Theodora (Claire Bloom), and probable heir to the estate Luke Sanderson (Russ Tamblyn) in order to dispel the near mythical tales that surround the house, unstable Eleanor Vance (Julie Harris) agrees to spend a few nights in the house following the death of her mother. As they slowly begin to discover, the horrific and seemingly unbelievable tales may hold more truth than the skeptical guests might have previously expected. With a seemingly unstoppable supernatural force lurking in every shadow, the probability of anyone escaping the evil clutch of the cursed mansion seems increasingly remote. ~ Jason Buchanan, RoviLe

When a wealthy family vacations in a remote house in England, the husband/father experiences weird hallucinations and abnormal reality as a menacing spirit seems intent on making him pay for his past sins.

A beautifully crafted adaptation of Ray Bradbury's internationally best-selling novel, this spine-tingling fantasy reaches the outer limits of evil temptations and supernatural thrills.

Gothic Horror

Heavy Clouds darken the sky, thick and suffocating; making deep breaths seem impossible.  The air reeking of stagnation and death is stifling with humidity. Ahead, looms an overbearing presence of cold and decrepit architecture, surrounded by dense wood left to rot.  A sudden Blast of cold, followed by unearthly tortured screams from the forest, prompts a forward movement towards the dubious shelter of the crumbling castle.

What exactly are the makings of a Gothic Horror?

The locale generally involves, gothic architecture an old castle, a cemetery, haunted mansions, a church/cathedral, or someplace that has been abandoned; dark, and declining with decay.  A dichotomy between the past and present, the ghosts of one's past stirring up old regrets, fears, and sins, into the present psyche, building tension.  A prickle of fear, goosebumps, a whisper of air on the back of the neck, shivers of trepidation caused by the elements of eerie surroundings.  A sense of the macabre but nothing tangible, no source that can be pinpointed or grasped, but it's spreading, building up to something.  There is tension and anticipation of what's to come. Often  Otherworldliness, creatures, and supernatural, are either present or suspected also plays a part.

If Genevieve can perform a séance persuasive enough to bring the young lord peace, she will win her freedom. Soothing a grieving nobleman should be easy for someone of Genevieve's skill, but when she arrives at the grand Somerset Park estate, Mr. Pemberton is not the heartbroken lover she expected. The surly--yet exceedingly handsome--gentleman is certain that his fiancée was murdered, even though there is no evidence. Only a confession can bring justice now, and Mr. Pemberton decides Genevieve will help him get it. With his knowledge of the household and her talent for illusion, they can stage a haunting so convincing it will coax the killer into the light. However, when frightful incidents befall the manor, Genevieve realizes her tricks aren't required after all. She may be a fake, but Somerset's ghost could be all too real... A Dreadful Splendor is delicious brew of mystery, spooky thrills, and intoxicating romance that makes for a ghoulishly fun and page-turning read."--Back cover.
